The majority of Colorado voters support fracking for natural gas and oil, according to a poll released by Quinnipiac University this week. Overall, the survey showed that 51 percent of respondents support - and 34 percent oppose hydraulic fracturing. The results show a sizable gender gap. Sixty percent of the male respondents support fracking, while 30 percent are opposed. Women are less enthusiastic about fracking, with 42 percent supporting it and 38 percent against. Not surprising, there is also a wide divide between the political parties.

Eighty percent of Republicans support fracking, while only nine percent are opposed.

Fifty-four percent of Democrats oppose fracking, while 26 percent are in support of the process.
